I wish I had got to hear Dr Julian Abel speak when he visited Australia. But this is so true - sitting down with each individual, sharing that 'cup of tea', hearing what they need and working to help - that is what good health care is about. Our health system might not always focus on that, but even if the system is lacking, we can always do our best to do what we know will really help. Spend time, listen.
