She is available to speak with community groups - whether they be seniors gym enthusiasts, bushwalking or bridge clubs - and with family and community carers assisting older people in their homes or in residential care.
She sets attendees at ease while sharing her passion - creating awareness of the unique needs of adults heading towards or living into their late 60s and beyond; providing every individual with the knowledge and sensible, practical guidance to help them live their best later life possible.
Ngaire also shares this vital awareness with presentations to health professionals and as a keynote speaker at conferences throughout Australia and Internationally. In these she presents the latest science to support the unique needs of people enjoying unprecedented longevity.
Ngaire is outspoken in this area, believing that a lot of current health guidance is ageist and potentially puts older adults at risk of preventable physical and cognitive decline in their later years.
In aged care, food is not nutrition unless it gets eaten. Ngaire works with organisations to achieve accreditation outcomes and the very best for those in care by combining menu and systems review to ensure the best possible quality food is made available; that there are efficient, consumer-focused systems in place to support adequate nutrition for consumers; and provides bespoke education at all levels. Only by combining all three of these can the needs of consumers (residents) as well as organisations be supported in nutrition and hydration.
Food provides nourishment to both the body and the soul - it needs to be good and it needs to support the unique needs of this group.
Fees for speaking and Consultancy work are generally based on a daily or hourly rate.
Ngaire offers her time to community groups for a reduced fee or free when she has time/capacity. Ngaire is based in Tasmania and cannot usually cover travel/accommodation costs to speak interstate but may be able to accommodate events if there is a commitment for enough book sales on the part of the event organiser to assist with costs.
“Ngaire has the great skill of being able to engage an audience from the very start of a presentation. Her extensive knowledge and relaxed style allow her to reach diverse audiences with a critical health and wellbeing message. Information that could be complex and dense becomes a clear, engaging and actionable.”
