Social interaction is an underestimated booster of brain power. Your brain has to do a lot more than you might think just to keep you engaged in conversation, to remember names, places, meals and enough current affairs or other topics to keep those conversations interesting.
But it’s not only managing that, it’s also coordinating you physically – allowing you to eat as well as talk if that’s what’s going on, planning your transport, watching your schedule so you arrive on time and get home again –there is just so much to do.
All that work is good for your brain and there’s so often the added benefit of getting to share meals or snacks to boost your nutrition at the same time!
